Howard Beaman, Jr. son of Howard Benton Beaman and Opal Metcalf was born in Mondamin, Iowa on February 11, 1933. He graduated from Mondamin School with the class of 1951. Howard was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Harlan.
Howard was active with race cars throughout Iowa as a mechanic. After High School he worked as a mechanic. He joined the US Army where he furthered his training in auto mechanics. He was in the Army from 6/8/1953 to 5/13/1955. After he was discharged he obtained his auto body shop training. He worked at Stan Olson Ford in 1960, Pauley Ford Center and then Orv Rocker Ford. In the early 80's Howard started Howard’s Auto Service and worked that until his semi-retirement and then he had part-time jobs there after.
Howard raised his three kids in Rural Harlan, Daniel, Susan and Joseph.
Howard died December 9, 2021. Howard was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Myrtle; siblings, Donna Bingham, Larry Beaman, Joan Tufly, and infant sister Thelma.
Howard is survived by his three children, Daniel (Penny) Beaman of Brayton, Iowa; Susan (Michael) Errickson of Sioux City, Iowa and Joseph (Lori) Beaman of Atlantic, Iowa, 8 grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren and one sister Darlyne (Bill) Mullin of Council Bluffs, Iowa.
