Irene Margaret Buckley
October 12, 1952 — April 27, 2018
Irene Margaret Buckley, daughter of Otto and Marge (Kramer) Klein, was born on October 12, 1952 in Harlan, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed through St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church in Panama and also attended St. Mary's Catholic School. She then attended high school in Harlan where she graduated from Harlan Community High School with the class of 1970.
After high school, Irene worked for John Sawin's attorney office and then for Ray Buman at his accounting office both in Harlan. She then worked at Pamida in Harlan before pursuing her passion in music by giving piano lessons out of her home for over thirty years. Irene went on to obtain her license in massage therapy in 2002. She also was a C.A.R.E. Instructor in aromatherapy using Young Living Essential Oils since 2008. Irene had such a passion for helping others and such a powerful impact through her healing hands.
Irene and Rex spent 45 loving years together that gave them 3 children, whom she loved every minute of raising. Her joy and love came from spending every possible minute with her grandchildren making leaf books, gardening, playing cards/games, teaching them piano, cooking, and fishing with Rex and all the kids. She had such a zest for life that was contagious to all she encountered.
Irene died at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa on April 27, 2018 having attained the age of sixty-five years, six months and fifteen days. She was preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by her husband, Rex Buckley of Harlan, Iowa; children Troy Buckley and his wife Helen of Avon, Indiana; Kevin Buckley and his wife Beth of Ankeny, Iowa, and Trisha Lloyd of Ankeny, Iowa; 5 grandchildren: Emily Buckley, Makenna Buckley, Kayden Lloyd, Avery Buckley and Korbyn Buckley; mother Margaret Klein of Harlan; siblings: JoAnn and her husband Gary Kenkel of Harlan; Larry Klein of Earling, Iowa; Edna and her husband Mike Keenan of Storm Lake, Iowa; Leona and her husband Ed Grace of Omaha, Nebraska; Dean Klein and his wife Connie of Panama, Iowa and David Klein and his wife Sara of Omaha; nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
