Isabel Marie Feldman, daughter of Benedict Leonard and Mary Rosa (Kwapiszeski) Blum, was born December 11, 1921 on a farm near Panama, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church in Panama, where she remained a lifetime member. In 1939 she graduated from St. Mary's Catholic High School in Panama. After high school she stayed to help her parents on the family farm.
On November 26, 1946, Isabel was united in marriage to Aloysius Joseph Feldman at St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church in Panama. She and Al settled on a farm 4 miles northwest of Panama. Together they raised seven children.
Isabel was active in her community and church. She was a member of Catholic Daughters of America, the Alter Society and sang in the church choir. She was also a member of the Community Club, Legion Auxiliary and Panama Sewing Circle.
Isabel loved playing card games, bingo and especially playing the piano. She loved sewing, crocheting, embroidery work, and was an avid quilter. She also enjoyed gardening and bird watching. Most of all, she loved time spent with her family, children, and grandchildren.
Isabel died on September 29, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at her son's residence in Harlan, Iowa, attaining the age of ninety-six years, nine months, and eighteen days. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Al Feldman, granddaughter Abby Marie Feldman, brother Ralph Blum and sister Adeline May.
She is survived by her children Rosemary and her husband Robert Cahill of Denver, Colorado; Sharon Bryan of Sevierville, Tennessee; John Feldman and Ann of Harlan, Iowa; Robert Feldman and his wife Deb of York, Nebraska; Eileen and her husband Bob Thoma of Omaha, Nebraska; Betty and her husband Mike Cosentino of Omaha, Nebraska; Michael Feldman and his wife Lisa of Panama, Iowa; 21 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sisters-in-laws Eunice Blum of Panama; Sylvia Feldman of Omaha; Rose Feldman of Omaha; nieces and nephews; other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to St. Mary's Parish in Panama or Myrtue Hospice in Harlan.
