Isabel Marie Klein, daughter of Peter and Isabel (Wilwerding) Heese, was born April 19, 1924 in Earling, Iowa. She attended school at St. Joseph’s in Earling. After high school, Isabel worked in Des Moines, Iowa at Meredith Publishing.

Isabel was a devoted wife and mother. She was selfless with her time and energy in spite of her disability due to a car accident at age of 27. She enjoyed playing all types of cards and was an active bridge player. She was known for her cinnamon rolls, angel food cake and home style cooking. But she will be mostly remembered for her gentle and giving spirit. She was a longtime member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan.
Isabel passed away on November 7, 2016 at her home at Elm Crest Assisted Living surrounded by her family. She was ninety-two years old. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Robert Klein; grandson Josh Klein; siblings Dorothy Muenchrath; Rita Sunderland; Bernice Hearn; Ed Heese; Owen Heese and Helen Cochran.
