J. Guadalupe Tovar-Garcia

J. Guadalupe Tovar-Garcia, also known as Pedro, was born in Mexico March 8, 1973, the son of Guadalupe Tovar-Martinez and Margarita Garcia-Vega.  He was raised in Mexico where he received his education.Pedro came to the United States and to Denison, Iowa, in 1996. On July 31, 1999, Pedro was united in marriage with Martha Nunez in Denison, Iowa.  They made their home in Denison where Pedro was employed with Farmland Foods where he worked until July of this year. In his spare time he enjoyed helping people, fishing, hiking, and walking around Denison and Yellow Smoke with his dog, Blackie.  He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Denison.Pedro died Monday, November 21, 2016, at his home in Denison.  At the time of his death he had been blessed with 43 years, 8 months and 13 days.Pedro was preceded in death by his mother, Margarita Garcia-Vega, one brother, Adrian and one nephew Adrian.Those remaining to cherish his memory his father: Guadalupe Tovar-Martinez of Santa Rita, Jalisco, Mexico; one sister: Leticia Tovar-Garcia of Santa Rita, Jalisco, Mexico; former wife: Martha Navaro of Denison, Iowa; cousin Raul Andrade and wife Maria of Storm Lake, Iowa, other relatives and friends.Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 26, 2016, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Denison, Iowa, with Father Paul Kelly as Celebrant.  Those serving as pallbearers included Raul Andrade-Garcia, Maria Sara Andrade, Jesus Ayala, Juan Ochoa, Salvador Ornelas, José González, Juan Valle, José Moreno, and César Rodriguez.Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Santa Rita Cemetery in Mpio de Ayotlan, Jalisco, Mexico. The Pfannebecker Funeral Home, www.pfannebecker.com , Denison, Iowa, was in charge of arrangements where a visitation was held following the mass from 3:00 p. m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2016.
