Jackie L. Norton

 Jackie Loylene Norton was born to John and Helen (Meisland) Clark on February 12, 1933, in Harlan, Iowa. She grew up on her family’s farm and attended country school. Jackie was the third of seven children, so she was often found babysitting her siblings. She was also known as the cook of her family. 

 Jackie found the love of her life when she met Lyle Norton. They were united in marriage on May 9, 1953. To this union, four children were born: Brad, Tracey, Brian, and Rochellen. Jackie loved being a mom, but she enjoyed being a grandma even more. One of her favorite things to do was teaching her grandchildren how to bake. Her specialties were dumplings and egg noodles. Jackie was a very hard worker and was very committed to her job in healthcare. She gave 40+ years of her life to this profession because of her love of taking care of others. She had a very strong faith in God and loved attending church on Sundays. 

 Jackie passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 2, 2025, in Harlan, Iowa attaining the age of 91 years, 10 months and 21 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Helen Clark; husband, Lyle Norton; children, Brad Norton, Brian Norton and Rochellen Norton; and brothers, Donald Clark, Lowell Clark, Gale Clark and Jim Clark.

 She is survived by her son, Tracey Norton of Harlan, Iowa; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; sister, Janet Clark (Jerry) Kruzan of Highbridge, WI; brother Gary Clark of Gibbon, NE; other family members and many friends.

Interment will follow funeral services at Harlan Cemetery in Harlan, Iowa.
