Jackson Tanner Rabe

My name is Jackson Tanner Rabe and I was born on May 15, 2014 here in Harlan. After being born in the hospital, I got to go home with my Mom and Dad. Their names are Samantha and Trenton Rabe. I had a big surprise when we got home - I already had a big sister named Bailey!
My mom worked at a place called CDS in Harlan and my dad works at Menards over in Shelby. When my mom would come home from work, I would smile at her voice and my eyes would light up when I saw her.
I’m a big Iowa Hawkeyes fan just like my dad. I was really excited to watch some football games with him this fall.
Except that on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, I laid down to take my nap and I didn’t wake up here. Instead, I went to heaven when I was only two months and twenty-one days old.
I know my mom and dad, Trenton and Samantha Rabe and my sister Bailey Rabe who all live in Harlan, Iowa will miss me the most. My other family that will miss me a whole lot are my grandparents: Leslie Smith of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Steve and Sandi Rabe (who we call Grandpa Mullet) of Primghar, Iowa, Shauna and Gene Laver of Harlan, and Jeff and Kathryn Larson (Peepa and Meema) of McClelland, Iowa; my great-grandparents Patricia and Dale Ruha of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Fred and Barbara Rabe of Audubon, Iowa, Frances and Ralph Smith of Logan, Iowa, D. A. and Karen Thompson of Harlan, and Vera Laver of Elk Horn, Iowa. I also have some cousins and a lot of other people that are going to miss me a whole bunch.
