James Robert Leslie

Jim Leslie was born on July 26, 1949 to James F. and Josephine (Gross) Leslie in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Jim was the fourth child born to James and Josephine, he had three older sisters - JoAnne, Jean and Judy. Jim attended AvoHa Community Schools and graduated with the class of 1967. He started college at Creighton and finished his schooling and graduated from J. F. Kennedy in Wahoo, Nebraska.
He met Kay Rydberg in college and they married in 1971 and later divorced. He then married Sandy Dipple in 1997 and they later divorced. He worked for Penske Truck - leasing trucks; and in sales of tires and batteries in various places. He retired in 2011 and moved back home to Avoca in 2014. He enjoyed golf, Corvette Clubs, and played baseball for many years.
Jim died on Tuesday August 18, 2015 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. He had attained the age of sixty six years and twenty three days. He is preceded in death by his father and niece Katherine Hansen.
Jim is survived by his mother Josephine Leslie of Walnut, Iowa; sisters JoAnne and her husband James Sweeney of Altus, Oklahoma; Jean and her husband Arlan Kuehn of South Sioux City, Nebraska; and Judy and her husband Don Willoughby of Sioux City, Iowa; Step children Scott (Darla) Dipple of Fort Calhoun; and Todd (Kim) Dipple of Elk Horn, Nebraska; grandchildren: Alyssa Dipple, Allison Dipple, Ashlyn Dipple, Easton Dipple, Gannon Dipple,and Brennon Dipple; niece Lori Cavin; nephews Thomas Sweeny, Michael Willoughby, Dan (Karla) Kuehn, Dave (Kellee) Kuehn; other relatives and friends.
