Jane Frances Kloewer was born on April 9, 1935 to Gottlieb and Eleanor (Rau) Kloewer at Botna, Iowa. She was one of ten children in this family. She was baptized in Manilla, Iowa and confirmed at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Panama, Iowa. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in Panama.
Jane lived at home with her parents until 1980. She moved to the Country Care Center in rural Harlan and lived there until 2007, when she became a resident of Elm Crest Retirement Home in Harlan.
She enjoyed putting puzzles together, coloring pictures, creating latch hook crafts, and listening to music, especially polka music.
Jane died on Monday, January 21, 2013 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, Iowa, having attained the age of seventy-seven years, nine months, and twelve days. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Donald.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters: Helen Kleffman of Portsmouth, Iowa, James Kloewer and his wife Rita of Panama, Iowa, Edna and her husband Keith Mallonee of Foley, Alabama, Louis Kloewer and his wife Bernice of Castle Rock Washington, Donna Schwery of Panama, Charlet and her husband Jerry Connelly of Tucson, Arizona, Deanna and her husband Gary Clark of Gibbon, Nebraska, and Mary Koch of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; nieces and nephews; other family members and friends.
