Jan Lakers (85), of Elk Horn, NE died on Saturday, April, 1, 2023. She was born August 13, 1937 in Manning, IA the daughter of Arlo & Thelma (Ramsey) Hodne.
Jan was married to John (Jack) Lakers on April 6, 1956. Jack and Jan celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2006 with their family.
Jack and Jan were partners in the Irwin Feed Service where they both worked. Jan was a member of St. Michael's Church in Harlan, IA since 1968.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, her parents, Arlo and Thelma Hodne, and her three brothers, LaRue, Ron, and Don Hodne. Survivors include two sons, Tim (Tami) Lakers of Las Vegas, NV, and Mark Lakers; five grandchildren, Ryan Lakers, Andy Lakers, David Lakers, Michael Lakers and Nathan Lakers; and ten great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Linda Stoen of Fargo, ND, Janice Lakers of Kalamazoo, MI and Sally Hodne of Manning, IA and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation and Wake will be held at PauleyJones Funeral Home 1304 9th St Harlan, IA. on Thursday April 12 from 6 pm to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Harlan, IA on Thursday April 13 at 11 am with lunch to follow and burial at the Irwin Union Cemetery to follow the lunch service.
