Jay E. Rosenberg
July 9, 1967 — March 28, 2008
Jay Edward Rosenberg was born on July 9, 1967, to Paul and Anna Marie (Zavorka) Rosenberg in Omaha, Nebraska. He graduated from South High School in Omaha with the Class of 1984.
He worked at Casio�s before working for his father. Jay always worked hard and had three jobs when he went to school. In 1990, he moved to Florida to run a Saturn automobile dealership. His job was important to him and he was good at it; never calling in or playing hookie.
On April 13, 1996, Jay was united in marriage to Tina Marie English at Coconut Creek in Boca Raton, Florida. Two sons were born to this union: Jaydan and Jay Edward, Jr. In 2003, the family moved from Florida to settle in Persia, Iowa.
Jay loved eagles, hot rod cars, and the Big Red, but his family was what he treasured the most. Spending time with his wife and sons were more important to him than realizing his dream of rebuilding a 1969 Cutlass "S" series car. One of Jay�s most prized possessions was a medal his great-great-grandmother had from Czechoslovakia.
Jay was admitted to Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa, and it was there that he lost his battle with multiple sclerosis on Friday, March 28, 2008, having attained the age of forty years, eight months, and nineteen days. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Elizabeth Zavorka, David Rosenberg, and Louise Buhl.
Jay is survived by his wife of twelve years, Tina Rosenberg, his sons Jaydan and Jay Edward, Jr., all of Persia, Iowa; his mother Anna Marie and her husband Jerry Pursell of Council Bluffs, Iowa; his father Paul Rosenberg and his wife Sandy of Omaha, Nebraska; his sister Cathy Pursell of Council Bluffs, and his brother Spencer Rosenberg of Omaha.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, April 5, 2008, with Rev. John Dorton celebrating the 11:00 AM service at St. Mary�s Catholic Church in Portsmouth, Iowa. The St. Mary�s Choir was accompanied by Denise Reinig.
