Jeannine Wingert (McLean) was born June 11, 1947 to Ray and Esther McLean in Omaha, NE. When she was young, they moved to a farm near Gretna, NE. She enjoyed playing with farm kittens and spending quality time with her dad and younger sister, Marlene. Jeannine and Marlene were not only sisters, but close friends. Jeannine's best friend was Bonnie. Their friendship began when they were young and continued throughout Jeannine's entire life.
In 1965, Jeannine met Ralph Wingert on a blind date. In later years, she would joke he caught her eye because she thought he looked like Elvis Presley. Anyone who knew Jeannine would know she had a life long love of Elvis! They were united in marriage in November 30, 1968. Their union was blessed with four children. She taught her children how to laugh, pray, and care for many small animals on the farm.
Jeannine spent her last few years at the Hansen House in Council Bluffs, IA. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff there who was so very kind and comforting during her final years and especially, her last moments.
Jeannine is survived by her husband, Ralph, her four children; Diane (Arnold) Smith, Laura (Andrew) Rief, Cheryl (Jeff) Spencer, and Joseph (Christina) Wingert, four grandchildren; Steven, Tyler, Adam, and Vicky; her sister; Marlene Hinton, and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
