Jeffrey Lynn Jensen, son of Russell “Toy” and Vadis Jewell (Bengard) Jensen, was born October 10, 1954 in Audubon, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at the Lutheran Church in Exira, Iowa. He graduated from Exira High School with the class of 1974. He then went on to trade school for refrigeration.
On June 28, 1975, Jeff was united in marriage to Joanie Jensen at the Elk Horn Lutheran Church in Elk Horn, Iowa. The couple made their home in Council Bluffs, Iowa where Jeff worked for Commercial Refrigeration. In 1978, they moved to Atlantic, Iowa where he started his own business, J & J Refrigeration. Three daughters were born: Carrie, Mindy and Kelly. He also worked as an independent contractor for Coca-Cola in Atlantic.
Jeff enjoyed traveling, especially his yearly trips to Disney World in Orlando, Florida or Disneyland in Anaheim, California. Jeff and Joanie also enjoyed trips to Alaska, Hawaii and many various cruises. Jeff enjoyed working around the house, and if his kids had a project to do around their houses he was right there to help. He would drop everything to help someone else. Jeff loved being a dad and grandpa.
Jeff continued working after becoming ill. He passed at his home in Atlantic, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, September 2, 2017, attaining the age of sixty-two year, ten months and twenty-three days. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He has left to cherish his memory, his wife Joanie Jensen of Atlantic, Iowa; children Carrie and her husband Tom Roskens of Avoca, Iowa; Mindy Jensen of Audubon, Iowa; Kelly and her husband Aaron Williams of Marne, Iowa; grandchildren Anistyn and Garrisyn Roskens; Adalynn “Addy” his right and left hand, Brynlee, and Emersyn Williams; siblings Jerry Jensen and his wife Connie of Larkspur, Colorado; Cindy Metz of Ankeny, Iowa; Brenda and her husband Reggie Crawford of Minneapolis, Minnesota; nieces and nephews; other family members and many friends.
