Joseph Walter Page, son of Walter Howard and Peggy Frances (Barnes) Page, was born April 24, 1956 in Harlan, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Harlan. He attended grade school at New Park Elementary and graduated from Harlan Community High School, with the class of 1974.
Joe worked at the Chicken Hut bussing tables then worked at Mickel’s Restaurant for several years. He then went to work at Western Iowa Pork until 1993 when he went to Jim’s Meat Market until they closed. He worked at Proliant before his illness forced him to retire in September of 2016.
Joe enjoyed the outdoors, he loved to go fishing and hunting. He made life long friends for over 30 years with Terry and Karen Gordon.
Joe died at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa on Saturday, September 16, 2017, attaining the age of sixty-one years, four months, and twenty-three days. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Harry Page.
He is survived by his siblings Frannie and her husband Dan Nissen of Elk Horn, Iowa; Steven Page and his wife Barb of Manning, Iowa; Mary Hayes of Harlan, Iowa; his special friend Carol Schwery of Harlan, Iowa; nieces and nephews; other family members and many friends.
