Joyce Daringer

Joyce Ann Daringer the daughter of Gordan and Lela Bristol Dent was born March 8, 1932. Joyce attended the Polk and Center Grade and then Harlan High School. She was a life time member at the Redline Church of Christ.
She worked as a nurse aide at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa after graduation from high school. On March 8, 1953, Joyce became the wife of Philip Daringer. They were married at the Harlan Church of Christ.
Joyce liked to fish, going shopping and going on vacation and traveling. At Christmas time she enjoyed making turtles, caramels, peanut brittle for everybody. She loved to garden and to can her produce. Her salsa was the best. She won lots of purple and best of show ribbons on her turtles, mints, caramels that she entered at the fair.
Joyce loved looking after the kids, four boys and one girl, Philip, Doug, Myron, Craig and Phylis, and 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Joyce and Philip enjoyed them all.
Joyce passed away January 22, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents Gordon and Lela Dent; her daughter Phyllis; and two sisters Norma Lambert and Virgina Mortensen.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Phillip; her sons Doug (Linda) Daringer of Harlan; Myron (Kimberly) Daringer of Ames; Craig (Terri) Daringer of Persia; and Phil (Staci) Daringer of Thousand Oaks; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
