Juanita May Doolittle was born on December 17, 1933 to Roscoe and Margaret (Hamilton) Doolittle in Pleasanton, Iowa. She graduated from Lamoni Community High School with the Class of 1952.
She was a mother to four children: Cathy, Tony, Michael, and Mark and enjoyed attending their activities while they were in school.
She worked at O’Brien Brothers in Leon, Iowa before settling in the Harlan, Iowa area in 2005. She worked at Variety Distributors and at the Sewing Factory.
Juanita loved to play cards, knit, do word puzzles, and was an avid reader. The only thing she loved more than hearing stories of her grandchildren was to actually be with them. She loved spending time with her family.
After a brief illness, Juanita died on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Myrtue Medical Center having attained the age of eighty-one years, three months, and sixteen days. She had made the decision to give to others one last time as an organ donor. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Reva Doolittle, and grandparents Glen and Edith Doolittle and James and May Hamilton.
She is survived by her children: Cathy and her husband Paul Sobotka of Sheldahl, Iowa, Tony Snethen and his wife Kandi of Lamoni, Iowa, Michael Snethen and his wife Paty of Elgin, Texas, and Mark Snethen of Portsmouth, Iowa; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; other family members and friends.
