Judith "Judy" Maureen Garvin was born on September 3, 1941 to William and Jocelyn (Lawrence) Wiesemann in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. She graduated from high school in Malone, New York.
On September 22, 1984, Judy was united in marriage to Roy Garvin in Council Bluffs, Iowa. In addition to being a housewife, Judy studied to be a nursing assistant online. She was a truck driver for many years, as well as worked as a parts person for B & L Garage in Council Bluffs.
Judy graduated in 1994 from the International Graphoanalysis Society�s program, making her a professional handwriting analysist. She enjoyed helping people learn about themselves and their hidden tendencies through an analysis of their handwriting.
Judy liked to sew and learned how to use beads and work with leather to make clothes from the different materials. She and Roy enjoyed camping in their 18 foot teepee. Because of Roy�s Native American heritage, they enjoyed attending special Indian related festivals, shows, and camping gatherings.
Judy died on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, Iowa, having attained the age of sixty-eight years and ten months. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Bradley.
She is survived by her husband of twenty-five years Roy Garvin of Avoca, Iowa; their children Jill and her husband Melvin Buffington of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Chris Jacobs of Omaha, Nebraska, Melissa Diesing of Phoenix, Arizona, Cherry Parham of Harlan, Iowa, and Louise Wood of Shenandoah, Iowa; fourteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother James Wiesemann of Malone, New York; sister Terri-Lynn Wiesemann of Virginia Beach, Virginia; other family members and friends.
Pastor Annette Wagoner conducted the 3:00 PM Celebration of Life Service at New Life Fellowship Church in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on Saturday, July 10, 2010.
