Julie Ann Ranney-Mikels, daughter of James Cecil and Betty Lea (Westman) Ranney, was born August 3, 1956 in Atlantic, Iowa. She graduated from Valley View High School in Ontario, California.
She drove truck in California until 1995 when she moved to Iowa. Julie worked at Insul 8 in Harlan until her retirement in 2003.
Julie was blessed with two sons, Richard and Robert. She loved spending time with her family and granddaughters. Iowa Hawkeye football was her favorite team sport. She also enjoyed the outdoors and making jewelry.
Julie died at her home in Harlan on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, attaining the age of sixty-one years, seven months and ten days. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her sons Richard Ranney and his wife Keri on Harlan, Iowa; Robert Ranney and his wife Katie of Colo, Iowa; 3 granddaughters Hallie Ranney, Jamiee Ranney and Kira Ranney; brothers Jim Ranney and his wife Julie of Turner, Oregon; Joe Ranney and his wife Libby of Harlan, Iowa; Jeff Ranney and his wife Nicki of Harlan, Iowa; other family members and many friends.
