Karman Kay Mosher, daughter of Larry Rock and Barbara Jane Frazier Johnston, was born on February 25, 1965 in Omaha, Nebraska. At a young age, Karman was diagnosed with a hearing impairment and was enrolled in the Hearing School in Omaha, Nebraska. As her family moved, Karman also attended the Nebraska School for the Deaf, Iowa School for the Deaf and the New York School for the Deaf.
In 1981, Karman was united in marriage to Scott Mosher in South Dakota. After their marriage, Scott and Karman made their home in Omaha where they both worked for the Little King Restaurant. They were the parents of two sons: Kevin and Shawn. Scott died suddenly at the age of 31 in 1990. Karman continued to make her home with her two boys in Omaha until 1994 when she moved to Harlan, Iowa. In 1998, she then made her home in Manilla, Iowa before returning to Omaha in 2001. In 2005 she returned to Harlan and accepted a position at Variety Distributors.
Karman loved and respected nature. She enjoyed camping and fishing as well as watching various wildlife, especially bald eagles. She was a free spirit and loved the freedom she felt while riding on a Harley Davidson. She also cared deeply about her family and always remained close to her roots.
Karman died on May 1, 2010 at the Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, Iowa, having attained the age of forty-five years, two months and six days. She is survived by her sons: Kevin Mosher of Omaha, Nebraska and Shawn Mosher of Harlan, Iowa; her grandchildren: Kaiya Anne Eagen and Bryan Allen Mosher; her mother Barbara Jane Johnston of Harlan; her father Larry Rock of Omaha; her boyfriend Paul Mohr of Harlan; her brothers and sisters: Larry Rock and his wife Peggy of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; Kandy Max of Harlan; Kookie and her husband Donald LaHair of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Krystal McDonald of Harlan and Adam Rock of Omaha, Nebraska; aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Memorial Services were held on Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan, Iowa, with Rev. Al Hazelton officiating the 1:00 PM service. Private burial will be held at a later date.
