Kasey J Campbell, son of Bill and Mary Beth (Boggess) Campbell, was born on March 5, 1980, in Pensacola, Florida. He was baptized at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Pensacola and was confirmed at Divine Redeemer Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. During high school, he played baseball and maintained his love for sports after his graduation from Doherty High School. He loved to watch the Atlanta Braves play. He received his Associates Degree in Fire Science from Pikes Peak Community College in Colorado Springs.
On May 22, 2004, Kasey was united in marriage to Deborah "Debbie" Arnett at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He worked as a supervisor for American Medical Response in Colorado before the couple moved to Harlan, Iowa, where he became a dispatcher for Shelby County.
Kasey loved to be outside and worked part-time at his father’s orchard, always coming up with ideas and looking up plans on the internet on how to make it bigger and better. Fall was his favorite time of year and he would ride his four-wheeler, go hunting, and do anything just to be outdoors.
Kasey died on Friday, August 8, 2008, having attained the age of twenty-eight years, five months, and three days. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Williams and Ethel Campbell and Fletcher and Alberta Boggess.
He is survived by his wife Debbie Campbell of Harlan, Iowa; his parents Bill and Mary Beth Campbell of Harlan; his sisters: Kimberly and her husband Tim Budzon of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Kelly and her husband Larry Tate of Colorado Springs, and Kristy Campbell of Colorado Springs; his brother Kevin Campbell and his wife Kathy of Harlan; his nieces and nephews: Megan, Austin, Nicolas, Tori, Shenandoah, Tanner, Billy, Alexis, Makenna, and Kevin, Jr.; other family members and many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, August 14, 2008, with Rev. Bob Hoefler celebrating the 1:00 PM service at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan, Iowa. Casket bearers were Kevin Campbell, Scott Harrell, Jake Budzon, Tim Budzon, Matt Thieme, and Larry Tate. Interment was held at the Harlan Cemetery
