Kathleen Lydia Klein was born February 23, 1922 to Peter and Mary (Romey) Klein at Templeton, Iowa.
At a dance in Halbur, Iowa, Kathleen was asked by a total stranger, LaVern Renze, for a dance, and she said yes. After that they began dating and were married May 6, 1946 at Holy Angels Church in Roselle, Iowa. To this marriage four children were born: David, Lloyd, Karen and Michael.
Kathleen was a loyal companion to her husband and helped him wherever she could on his Fuller Brush route. She also worked part-time in food service at Harlan Schools and at the Nursing Home in Avoca. She would substitute when they needed her for the schools.
Kathleen loved needle work - knitting, sewing, crocheting and quilting. She also enjoyed card club, reading and word puzzles.
In later years she planned their trips to Hawaii, a Caribbean cruise, and twelve bus tours that they both enjoyed.
Kathleen was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church since 1961 and always lived her Catholic faith.
