Kathy Jacobsen

Kathy Jean Jacobsen, daughter of Warren and Joyce (Schuning) True, was born on April 2, 1950 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She attended grade school and high school in Avoca and graduated with the Class of 1968. She was confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Avoca and eventually after she was married attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Avoca.
On October 24, 1968, Kathy was united in marriage to Darrell Jacobsen. To this union they had 2 children: Shela and Michael.
Kathy worked at a local grocery story, Heritage Restaurant and most recently she was employed by Avoca Nursing in the laundry department. Kathy enjoyed going out with her classmates, being around her family, shopping with Shela and Bev and hanging with her grandchildren.
On Friday, February 10, 2023, Kathy passed away at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan having attained the age of 72 years, 10 months and 8 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; ex-husband Darrell and son Michael.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Shela Jacobsen of Avoca, Iowa; brother Thomas (Cheryl) True of Walnut, Iowa; 4 grandchildren; favorite Uncle Bob True of Bellevue, Nebraska; other family, nieces, nephews and friends.
