Kenneth Edward Campbell was born July 25, 1946, to Kenneth Eugene and Betty Jean (Hartman) Campbell in Harlan, Iowa. He was the oldest of six children and attended Harlan Community High School. After school, he began driving a mail truck for his dad and later delivered newspapers from town to town. He then began driving over the road truck.

On June 12, 1966, Kenny was united in marriage to Mary Karr. One son, Donovan Joseph Campbell was born to this union. The couple later divorced.

Kenny was very artistic and would paint pictures for his family and friends. Later he also took up photography and photographed a number of weddings, graduation pictures and family photos.

For many years, Kenny played Santa for private parties and many family Christmases. He made a terrific Santa. His sister-in-law, Susan, made him a beautiful red suit to wear, while Eastergaurd ordered his white hair and beard for him. He made a right jolly old elf. Kenny loved being Santa and loved surprising children with their Christmas wish.

Kenny was a son, brother, father and uncle but he was most happy being grandpa to Donovan’s children: Juliann, Kevin, and Joey. They were his pride and joy.

Kenny died on Tuesday, February 3, 2009, after a lengthy illness, at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, Iowa, having attained the age of sixty-two years, six months, and nine days. He is preceded in death by his father Kenneth; his brother David and his sister BJ Hemminger.

Judith Piper of Sioux City, Iowa; his sister-in-law Marie Campbell of Harlan; his brother-in-law Dwayne Hemminger and his wife Carol of Hancock, Iowa; nieces; nephews; other family members and many friends.
