Kenneth Schuning was born on March 5, 1929 in Shelby, Iowa to Willie and Alma (Blumer) Schuning. He attended school in Shelby, Iowa. He was an Army veteran stationed in Germany.
Kenneth married Geneva Corrine Haight on September 15, 1951 in Minden, Iowa. They were farmers of crops and livestock south of Shelby. Geneva died on December 8, 1991.
When Kenneth retired he moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa where he met and married Billie (McKinzy) Schuning in 1993. They enjoyed taking many trips. Billie died on November 19, 2000.
He moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas 15 years ago and had a special friend Bonnie Brainard. He enjoyed Antique John Deere Tractors, classic cars, polka music and dancing. He had a small family but they were very important to him.
Kenneth died on Monday June 29, 2015 in Springfield, MO after being in an auto accident in Mountain Home Arkansas on June 25, 2015. He had attained the age of eighty six years, three months and twenty four days. He was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Alma; sisters Berniece Midyett and Irene Stender; his wives Geneva Schuning and Billie Schuning.
Those left to cherish Kenneth’s memory are his special friend Bonnie Brainard of Mountain Home, AR; Niece Janice and her husband James Boysen of Shelby, IA; two great nieces: Angela and her husband Brent Emerick and their children Dylan, Brenna and Carter of Newell, Iowa; and Karen Boysen of Okabena, MN; Long time friends Wayne and Susan Martin and their two sons Perry and Doug; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
