Kevin McGinn, son of Donald and Eileen McGinn was born March 10, 1956 in Denison, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dunlap, Iowa. He attended Dunlap High School, graduating with the class of 1974.
Kevin married Shawn Rae Schneider on March 26, 1977 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Denison, Iowa. After marriage, he started a job at Farmland in Denison, Iowa. They made their home in Denison and raised their four children Aric, Jami, Brandon, and Matthew. After retiring from Farmland, Kevin went on to work for McKee Construction in Denison, Iowa building houses.
Kevin had many hobbies including hunting and fishing. His favorite game of prey were pheasant, quail, and turkey. He looked forward each year to mushroom hunting season and would never reveal his secret spots. He was very crafty and loved woodworking.
Kevin passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 at his home in Manilla, Iowa, attaining the age of sixty-four years, ten months, and twenty-nine days. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his children Aric McGinn of Pocahontas, Iowa; Jami (Stephen) Marshall of La Vista, Nebraska; Brandon (Meagan) McGinn of Denison, Iowa; Matthew (Kristi) McGinn of Grundy Center, Iowa; honorary daughter Faith Launderville of Sioux City, Iowa; his grandchildren Brendan, Garrett, Heavenly, Taryn, Nevaeh, Alexis, Jayden, Kiera, Damien, Mareck, Madison, and Landon; his siblings Rick McGinn of Lincoln, Nebraska; Dennis (Peggy) McGinn of Glenwood, Iowa; Marc (Debra) McGinn of Jefferson, Iowa; Gene (Irene) McGinn of Logan, Iowa; Brian (Sue) McGinn of Dunlap, Iowa; his former wife Shawn McGinn of Pomeroy, Iowa; his beloved cat Shiloh, nieces and nephews; other family members and friends.
