Kim Micheal Weddum was born on October 31, 1947 to Earl and Lois (Nissen) Weddum in Atlantic, Iowa. He was baptized in the Elk Horn Lutheran Church, attended Elk Horn - Kimballton Schools, and graduated with the Class of 1966. He continued his education with two years in Creston at SouthWestern Community College and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Northwest Missouri State in 1970.
Kim married Mari Christensen to that union two children were born Kristin and Todd. On July 26, 2001, he was united in marriage to Jeanne (Conn) Weddum in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. To this union Jeanne brought her daughter Trina.
Kim taught high school Government, American History, Psychology, Sociology, and Economics for forty years at A-H-S-T, coaching football, basketball, and track as well, he later retired in 2010.
He loved the outdoors - hunting, fishing, trapping, and taxidermy but not as much as he loved spending time with his grandkids.
Kim died on Monday, May 30, 2016 in his home at the age of sixty-eight years, six months, and thirty days. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ted.
He is survived by his wife Jeanne Weddum of Avoca, Iowa; children: Kristin Weddum of Harlan, Iowa, Todd Weddum and his wife Shelli of Glenwood, Iowa, and Trina and her husband David Rose of Atlantic, Iowa; five grandchildren: Brogan and Brady Weddum of Glenwood and Bryer, Emma, and Sophia Rose of Atlantic; other family members and many friends.
