Larry Wayne Miller, son of Virgil and Lillie Louise (Kellogg) Miller, was born on February 8, 1945 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He attended Tri-Center High School and was the Valedictorian of his class. After high school, Larry attended Dana College and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in 1967.
He taught school for one year in West Point, Nebraska and formed a partnership with three others to open a dealership called Wake ‘N Trail, selling boats and ATV’s. After that, he then came to Harlan and worked at Axland TV, where he eventually bought the business from Martin Axland. He continued working there until the TV repair business died off and then worked doing various odd jobs around the Harlan and Oakland area until his health declined.
He enjoyed camping in his van in the early 70's. He would camp locally and travel out west with his parents, brothers and sisters.
Larry died on December 3, 2016, at the Atlantic Specialty Care in Atlantic, Iowa, having attained the age of seventy-one years, nine months and twenty-five days. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Martens.
Larry is survived by his brother Allan Miller of Persia, Iowa; Dale Miller of Republic, Missouri; Russell Miller of Loveland, Colorado; Cindy Hulbert of Council Bluffs, Iowa; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
