Pete Coyle was born at Piggott, Arkansas, February 27, 1945, the son of Clarence and Nina Marie Harden Coyle. He was baptized in Martin?s Creek at Hardy, Arkansas by the New Hope Baptist minister in his youth. He was raised in Arkansas where he received his education. Following his education Pete moved to Iowa and farmed for a time at Lake Park, Iowa. He then became a truck driver for construction companies including Johnson Construction of Spencer, Iowa, Ten Point Construction of Denison, Iowa and Irving Jensen Construction of Sioux City from which he retired in 2004. Since 1988 he had made his home in Denison moving to Schleswig in 1999. On October 20, 2006, Pete was united in marriage with Cheryl Weier at Denison. They made their home in Schleswig where he had since resided. In his spare time he enjoyed reading, playing cards and listening to country music. Pete died Saturday, February 16, 2008, at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. At the time of his death he had attained the age of 62 years, 11 months and 19 days. Including his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his daughter, Reba Ann Coyle, two brothers, James and Charles Coyle and two sisters, Fern Dunlap and Joyce Schwarzkoff. Those remaining to cherish and honor his memory include his wife, Cheryl Coyle of Schleswig, son, Charles Coyle and special friend, Amber and her daughters, Lily and Cadence of Webb, Iowa, stepson, Shane Weier and special friend, Sarah of Denison, daughter-in-law, Katy Coyle of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, four grandchildren, Dawson Hanson of Manilla, Iowa, Kinser Tuttle of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Riley and Daphne Coyle of Webb, Iowa, two sisters, Marie McKay of West Plains, Missouri and Ruth and husband, Kirk Lowery of Roanoke, Texas, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 20, 2008, at the Pfannebecker Funeral Home in Denison, Iowa, with the Rev. Alberta Ervin officiating. Music for the service included recorded selections of "Angels" by artist Randy Travis and "Go Rest High On That Mountain" by artist Vince Gill. Pallbearers included Maurice Henkelman, Steve Lingle, Charles Coyle, Clarence Mittrucker, Justin Thomas and Joe Dardar. Interment was at the Lone Tree Cemetery in Sioux Rapids, Iowa.
