Leroy Allen Bubke, son of Irvin and Wacille (Young) Bubke was born February 9, 1943 in Battle Creek, Iowa. He was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ida Grove, Iowa. He was confirmed at the Immanual Lutheran Church in Schleswig, Iowa. He attended school in Schleswig and graduated in 1961.
After graduation, he worked on the farm and did construction work for Petersen Construction in Schleswig. In 1964, he was inducted into the United Stated Army at Omaha, Nebraska. He was stationed in West Berlin, Germany until discharged in 1966. After discharge from the service, he was married and helped raise five children. He worked for IBP in Denison, Iowa and American Beef in Oakland, Iowa. In 1972, he went to work for Harlan Contracting in Harlan, he worked there until the business closed in 2002. He then worked for Western Engineering until he retired.
Leroy died on Friday, February 24, 2017 at the Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, Iowa, attaining the age of seventy-four year and fifteen days. He was preceded in death by his parents Irvin and Wacille Bubke, step-mother Edyth Schulte, sister Barbara Lyman, brothers James Bubke, Steven Bubke, Leon Bubke and David Schulte.
He is survived by his children Rick Hadfield and his wife Merry of Beaver Lake, Nebraska; Mike Hadfield and his wife Paula of Harlan, Iowa; Regina Page of Harlan, Iowa; George Hadfield of St. Louis, Missouri; Peggy and her husband Austin Beck of Colorado Springs, Colorado; many grandchildren; siblings Tom Bubke and his wife Cathy of Schleswig, Iowa; Connie Lee of Charter Oak, Iowa; Donald Bubke and his wife Virginia of Avoca, Iowa; Roger Bubke of Early, Iowa; Timothy Bubke and his wife Lila of Schleswig, Iowa; Terry Schulte and his wife LaVonne of Westphalia, Iowa; Diann Taylor of Red Oak, Iowa; Maria Evans of Phoenix, Arizona; other family members and friends.
