Linda Marie Barragan, daughter of Edward and Grace (Dotzler) Wilwerding was born July 24, 1955 in Harlan, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Defiance, Iowa, where she remained a lifetime member. She attended St. Paul’s School in Defiance then Harlan Community High School, where she graduated with the class of 1972.
After graduation, Linda moved to Omaha where she worked at Optical Office. In 1979, she moved back to Defiance. She started babysitting for local families before becoming a CNA where she worked at Little Flower Haven in Earling for over 30 years.
Linda loved spending time with her family, attending her nieces and nephews events. She also loved cheering for her favorite race car driver #88 Sean Barragan. Linda was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She died at her home in Defiance on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 attaining the age of sixty-six years, three months, and sixteen days. She was preceded in death by her mother Grace Wilwerding, father Edward Wilwerding, and stepmother Alma Wilwerding.
She is survived by her children Tricia Wilwerding and friend Jonas Merritt of Alta, Iowa; Sean Barragan and his wife Nicole of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; granddaughter Chloe Barragan; siblings Diane and her husband Dave Lothridge of Omaha, Nebraska; Denny Wilwerding and his wife Lou of Omaha, Nebraska; Julie Mathison of Stanton, Iowa; Joanne and her husband Mike Erlbacher of Earling, Iowa; Pat and her husband Jerry Bissen of Harlan, Iowa; nieces and nephews; other family members and friends.
