Linda Lou Flug was born on November 27, 1950 to Rolland “Jack” and Ingebourg (Warner) Murray in Harlan, Iowa. She graduated from Harlan Community High School. On February 19, 1972, she was united in marriage to Michael Flug in Harlan. They became parents to two daughters: Jenny and Renae.
Linda was a permanent fixture at Mickel’s Restaurant where she worked as a waitress with many of her family members, including her sister Sue, who owned Mickel’s for several years. She retired in 2012.
In her free time, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed collecting different vases and searching for fools gold and four leaf clovers. She liked taking trips to the Council Bluffs casinos and playing bingo with her friends.
Linda died unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at her home in Harlan, having attained the age of sixty-three years, eight months, and two days. She was preceded in death by her father Jack, her daughter Renae, and her brother William Murray.
She is survived by her husband of forty-two years Michael Flug of Harlan, Iowa; daughter Jenny and her husband Michael Scheffler of Harlan, Iowa; son-in-law Nick Gambs and his wife Jane of Dunlap, Iowa; five grandchildren: Savanna, Michael, and Jake Scheffler and Claire and Nicholas Gambs; mother Ingebourg Murray of Harlan, Iowa; sister Sue and her husband Kenny Kobold of Harlan, Iowa; brothers Steven Murray of Des Moines, Iowa and Gary Murray of Harlan, Iowa; other family members and many friends.
