Linda Sue Nordby, daughter of Charles and Arlene (Walters) Elwell, was born August 22, 1953 at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa. She attended Denison High School and one year of college after graduation.
On December 20, 1969, Linda married her childhood sweetheart, Lyle Nordby at First United Methodist Church in Denison, Iowa. Together they raised three children: Kristine, Mandi and Aron. Linda worked as a waitress then received her licenses as a CNA and med aide. She also took a lot of pride in being a Girl Scout Leader.
Linda enjoyed cooking, sewing, and playing board games with her friends and family. She was a fan of Iowa Hawkeye Football, Wizard of Oz and Mickey & Minnie Mouse.
Linda died at her home outside of Irwin, Iowa, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, January 9, 2020, attaining the age of sixty-six years, four months, and eighteen days. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years Lyle Nordby of Irwin, Iowa; children Kristine (Scott) Lingle of Manilla, Iowa; Mandi (Ahmed) Al-Asfour of Rapid City, South Dakota; Aron (Danielle) Nordby of Shelby, Iowa; grandchildren: Jessica Lingle, Cole Lingle, Miranda Lingle, Ali Al-Asfour, Laila Al-Asfour, Mariam Al-Asfour, Rylie Beermann-Nordby, Nash Nordby, Colt Nordby, her dog Lila; her siblings, nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.
