Lois Anne Houston

Lois Anne Houston, of Denison, Iowa, passed away peacefully Monday, January 10, 2022. At the time of her death, she had been blessed with 95 years, 11 months, 1 day.
Lois was born in Denison, Iowa on February 9, 1926, to Frank and Lulela (Mundt) Lenz. She graduated from Denison High School in 1943.
On April 14th, 1945, Lois married Patrick Leo Houston at Denison. To this union seven children were born.
Lois was employed at the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service in Denison for most of her working years. She made lifelong friends at the ASCS. In retirement, she volunteered at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital, St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and School and enjoyed spending time at their lake home.
Lois was a kind soul, welcoming everyone into her home. She will be remembered as one of the kindest people we know, dedicating her life to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
After her husband passed away, she moved into Silveridge, where she continued to make lasting friendships.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Lulela Lenz, her husband, Patrick, and her son, John Patrick.
Survivors include Colette Marsh, Barbara (Steven Constance) Houston, Sally (Herbert) Quandt, Timothy (Kelli) Houston, Jane (Rick) Carstensen, and Anne (Mike) Power. She had 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
