Lois Jane Krueger, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully departed this world on March 26, 2025, at Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa, at the age of 88. She was born on October 24, 1936, to Rex Burr and Inez (Luke) Yarger, in Massena, Iowa, she was baptized and confirmed at the Massena Methodist Church. She attended the Massena school where she was active and lettered in basketball and was also active in 4-H. She graduated from Massena High School in 1954. She worked at JC Pennys in Atlantic following graduation.
Lois met Alden Krueger while roller skating at the Atlantic Roller Rink and the two even appeared on the Rusty Show, square dancing on their roller skates. They were married on February 19, 1956, in Massena, IA and to this union three children were born. They continued to find time for dancing, riding their Harley motorcycle, camping, and meeting up with family and friends while still working the family farm.
Lois lived a life filled with joy, creativity, and a deep passion for engaging with the world around her. Lois was known for her fun and carefree personality, embracing life's moments with enthusiasm. Her interests spanned a wide array of hobbies including sewing, painting, crafting, and gardening. She found immense joy in nurturing her flowers. Their farm chimed of hogs, geese, ducks as well as chickens of which they sold fresh eggs in town. She worked beside Alden doing several tasks on the farm as well as mowing several yards around Oakland. She also served as treasurer for several years for Lincoln Township. Above all else, Lois cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, pouring her heart into each moment shared with them.
Lois leaves behind her beloved children, Terry and his wife Denise Krueger of Hancock, Iowa, and Teresa and her husband Lyle Edsall of Fontanelle, Iowa. She also leaves a legacy of love through her grandchildren: Adam and his wife Cassandra Krueger of Carson, Iowa; Dustin and his wife Jessica Krueger of Florida; Angela and her husband Nate Shultz of Des Moines, Iowa; Eric Bridegroom of Texas; Alden Bridegroom of Michigan; and Felicia and her husband Ben Kastens of Nebraska City, Nebraska, 11 great-grandchildren, sister in law Marilyn Stein of Lewis, Iowa, several dear nieces, nephews, and friends.
