Lorna Belle Gannon, daughter of Laura Wilburn and Francis Walter Stivers was born January 30, 1925 in Calloway, Nebraska. Lorna attended school in Calloway, Nebraska and was a teacher before a degree was required.
Lorna gave birth to 8 children, four girls and four boys, Raymond, Richard, Peggy, Sonya, Chuck, Vicki, Willa, David. She was married to her second husband, Donald Gene Gannon on October 13, 1962 in Danville, Illinois.
Lorna worked as a secretary most of her working career. She retired in 1989. Lorna lived in Portsmouth, Iowa before going to Elm Crest in Harlan, Iowa.
Lorna enjoyed crocheting, reading, doing crossword and word searches. She also enjoyed a good conversation.
Lorna died on July 13, 2021 attaining the age of 96 years, 5 months and 13 days. In addition to her parents, Lorna was preceded in death by her husband Donald Gannon, children Raymond, Richard, Sonya, and David. Her siblings Francis, Paul, Robert, Wanda, Mack, Johnny, Mark and 2 grandchildren.
She is survived by her children Peggy (Brian) Montgomery of Cozad, Nebraska; Chuck (Lois) Naylor of Carter Lake, Iowa; Vicki (Mack) Jones of Tennessee; and Willa (John) Lee of Portsmouth, Iowa; 19 Grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.
