Clark at their home in Botna, Iowa. He was baptized at the Irwin Methodist Church and graduated from Irwin Consolidated High School on May 22, 1941.
Lorren enlisted in the United States Army on April 2, 1946 as a Construction Equipment Mechanic. He was honorably discharged on April 16, 1947, having received the WWII Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal.
On August 29, 1948, Lorren was united in marriage to Laverne Anna Reuwsaat. To this marriage three children were born: Vicki, Joleen, and Larry. They later divorced but remained good friends and enjoyed many holiday and family gatherings through the years.
Following his discharge from the Army, Lorren farmed in the Shelby and Cass County area. In 1966, Lorren purchased and ran Clark Welding and Repair Shop in Irwin, Iowa. He also operated a gunsmith business. Lorren was a volunteer firefighter and EMT with the Irwin Fire and Rescue Unit. Following the sale of the repair service, he continued to work as an EMT for Myrtue Hospital System and later, Medivac. Lorren relocated to the Council Bluffs area and worked for Eppley Airport and later the City of Council Bluffs until his retirement.
Lorren was a Boy Scouts of America leader for many years achieving one of the highest BSA honors, Order of the Arrow. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting with his brother, son, and other family members. Lorren loved to camp and took the family on many camping and fishing trips.
In 1993, Lorren met Lore Lohrke and spent the next twenty years with his sweetheart. Together they enjoyed camping, fishing, dancing, traveling, and spending time with family. They were especially proud of their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lorren died on Friday, August 2, 2013, at Bethany Nursing Home in Council Bluffs having attained the age of eighty-nine years, six months, and twenty-one days. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister-in-law Howard and Marianne Clark; brother-in-law Gerald Lansman; and great-grandson Christian Pickett.
He is survived by his special sweetheart Lore Lohrke of Council Bluffs, Iowa; daughters: Vicki Clark and Joleen Fiscus both of Harlan, Iowa; son Larry Clark and his wife Shalkye of Kimballton, Iowa; sister Jean Lansman of Harlan; grandchildren: Shilo and her husband Jeff Bladt, Seth Fiscus, Ashley and her husband Roger Schmidt, Cody Clark and his wife Brooke, Cory Clark, Shauna Johnson, and Donnie Pickett; great-grandchildren: Hannah and Samuel Bladt; MaKayla, Logan, Zackary, and Eythan Schmidt; Nicholas Clark; Corbin Clark; Michael Johnson; Devyn, Landon, Tyler, Benjamin, and Abigal Pickett; other family members and friends.
Pastor Leila Blackburn officiated the 11:00 AM funeral service on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan, Iowa. Honorary Casket Bearers were Shilo Bladt, Seth Fiscus, Ashley Schmidt, Cody Clark, Cory Clark, Shauna Johnson, and Donnie Pickett. A private inurnment was held by the family.
