Marian Eunice Bywater, the daughter of Richard Orville and Rose Irene Singleton, was born on August 14, 1942, in Atchinson County, Missouri. She was the seventh of nine children. Marian grew up on a farm in West Boro, Missouri. Lester and Marian eloped to Pineville, Louisiana and were united in marriage on August 29, 1959. From this union, they were blessed with six children, Christina, Carol, Regina, Richele, David, and Cherie. The family lived in several states before settling in Avoca, Iowa, where Marian was a homemaker. Marian enjoyed gardening and painting. She was an avid animal lover, especially her kitties and hummingbirds. Once Lester and Marian became empty nesters, they enjoyed many wonderful winters in Florida, with their daughter Cherie and her family. They also enjoyed spending their summers camping and fishing with their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Marian Bywater passed away on Saturday, November 4th, 2023, at Avoca Specialty Care in Avoca, Iowa. She had reached the age of 81 years, 2 months, and 21 days.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Regina Garner, two son-in-laws and three sisters. She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of sixty-four years, Lester, children; Christina (Dennis) Quick, Carol (Barney) Thomsen, Richele Walker, David (Christene) Bywater, Cherie Porter, grandchildren; Joshua, Heather, Cory, Eric, Travis, Nelson, Karli, Jack, Grant, Cole, and Chelsie, two great grandchildren; Peyton, Chloe, and many other loving family members.
