Marilynn Annette Mace Keuck was born at Moville, Iowa August 6, 1932, the daughter of George William and Pearle Annette Willer Mace. Reverend Joseph Pickersgill baptized Marilynn on June 11, 1933 at the Federated Church in Moville. She lived in Moville until after her graduation from Moville High School with the class of 1950. She taught in Boyden, Iowa after graduating from Iowa State Teachers’ College in 1954. While in Cedar Falls, Iowa she was confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She married LaVern Arnold Keuck at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville, Iowa on December 27, 1953. After their marriage, LaVern finished his Army service in Germany, Marilynn returned to college to finish her degree. When LaVern returned to the states in 1954, they lived in Boyden where Marilynn taught Home Economics and Business Education. Their son Danny Kris was born in Sheldon in 1955. They moved to Omaha where LaVern attended Universal Trade School. Marilynn substituted at the high schools there, checked groceries at the Hinky Dinky, and had a small clothing alteration business. Their son William Mace was born in Omaha on September 15, 1958. They moved to Denison in 1958. Their daughter Jane Annette was born on June 2, 1960 in Denison. All three children were baptized at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville, Iowa. Marilynn substituted in area schools for 9 years and later taught in the Dow City-Arion School. Her teaching spanned 30 years. Her favorite class was the seniors in office procedures. She belonged to various organizations in Denison that served the community over the years. She enjoyed being involved in the children’s activities. In later years she belonged to the First United Methodist Church Bible Study Group, UMW, Church Circle, PEO, Retired School Personnel, Friday Club, and two bridge groups. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She liked to knit, read, and play bridge. Marilynn died Friday evening, February 8, 2013 at her home in Denison. At the time of her death she had been blessed with 80 years 6 months and 2 days. A Son Danny Kris of Perry Iowa, her parents George William, Pearle Annette Willer Mace, two sisters Shirley Mace Junck Reuter and Joyce Lavonne Mace Schutt, brothers-in-law, Harry Junck, Anthony Reuter, sisters-in-law Gertrude Keuck Parkinson, Hattie Keuck Ledgerwood and Vesta Keuck Davis preceded her in death. Those remaining to cherish her memory include her husband LaVern, two children: William Mace Keuck and his wife Cheri of Urbandale, Iowa, Jane Annette Munns and her husband Alan of Fort Collins, Colorado, grandchildren: Danielle, Jason, Camie, Nicole, and Logan Keuck, Kathleen Munns Gienger and Johanna Munns. Sisters-in-law Doris Grasma of Sioux City, Velma Linerud of Washington, Lydia Fischer of Hinton. Brother in laws, Ray and Chris Keuck of Sioux City, Clarence Edward Schutt of Brentwood, Tennessee and many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. A visitation was held from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at the First United Methodist, Denison, Iowa. Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church in Denison, Iowa, with the Rev. Alberta Ervin officiating. A PEO memorial service presented by members of Chapter Co was included in the service. Music for the service was provided by Sue Rosener singing “Amazing Grace” and “On Eagle’s Wings” with Nancy Miles as organist. Following the services all were invited to join the family in the church fellowship hall for a luncheon prepared and served by the United Methodist Women. Marilynn and her son Danny Kris will be inurned at a later date at the Arlington Cemetery in Moville, Iowa.
