Marjorie Eileen Hall Duncan was born July 28, 1918, in Dunlap, Iowa. Her parents were McKinley Hall and Lela Green Hall. She lived with her parents on a farm where she attended a rural school for eight years. She graduated from Dunlap High School in 1936. In 1939 Marjorie was united in marriage to Edward Duncan of Denison, Iowa, where they made their home. They were blessed with three children, Robert, John and Diane. Marjorie worked for the Denison Public schools for a number of years and was active in the United Methodist Church, especially United Methodist Women. Upon retiring in 1978, Ed and Marjorie moved to Merritt Island, Florida, where they joined Grace United Methodist Church. Marjorie resumed her association with United Methodist Women at Grace United. She particularly enjoyed the mission studies and was very proud of the mission work supported by United Methodist Women. She loved to read. She died Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Merritt Island, Florida. At the time of her death she had been blessed with 95 years, 1 month. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents and younger brothers Eugene and Marvin. She is survived by her brother Maurice and wife Helen of Knoxville, Iowa; her sister-in-law Ruby Duncan of Denison, Iowa; her children: Robert and wife Pam of Milford, Iowa; John and wife Libby of Cocoa Beach, Florida; and Diane and husband Joel VanLuven of Valrico, Florida; six grandchildren: Christine, Robin, and Andrew Duncan and Michael, Kelly and Patrick Duncan and wife Jennifer; one great-grandchild Allie, daughter of Patrick and Jennifer Duncan, and many dear relatives and friends.
