Marjorie Ella Kramer was born on June 25, 1932 to Perley and Loretta (Albers) Rosenow in Earling, Iowa. She attended country school near Earling and graduated from Tennant High School. After graduation, she worked as a secretary at the Tennant Schools.

She became a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church when she married Robert Kramer on December 27, 1958 and remained a life-long member. The couple was blessed with five children: James, Sharon, Julie, Janice, and Carolyn.

Marjorie enjoyed being a housewife and raising her children. When they were older, she took a job at Turner Furniture in Tennant and discovered a talent for woodworking and refinishing furniture. The family later moved to Harlan and she worked at Variety Distributors until her retirement.

Once retired, she enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, cooking and baking, gardening and canning, and making flower arrangements. She was an active member of the Parish Council and Guild, volunteered her time to the Red Cross Bloodmobile, and was a strong supporter of the Shelby County Catholic Schools. Marjorie and Robert owned and operated K’s Krafts for over twenty years during their retirement.

Due to her failing health, Marjorie became a resident of Salem Lutheran Nursing Home in Elk Horn, Iowa shortly before her death on Monday, November 3, 2014. She had attained the age of eighty-two years, four months, and nine days. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Janice Kramer, and brother Kenneth “Nick” Rosenow.

She is survived by her husband of nearly fifty-six years Robert Kramer of Harlan, Iowa; son James Kramer and his wife Judy of Council Bluffs, Iowa; daughters: Sharon Kramer of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Julie Kramer of Omaha, Nebraska, and Carolyn and her husband Bruce Blum of Harlan, Iowa; four grandchildren: Nate Kramer and Mikayla, Alex, and Jenna Blum; brother Donald Rosenow and his wife Lois of Tipton, Iowa; other family members and many friends.
