Mark Joseph Finken was born on April 25, 1960 to Charles & Edna (Fromm) Finken in Manning, Iowa. He was baptized at St. Joseph Catholic Church & attended St. Joseph School in Earling. Mark spent his childhood years in Earling until enlisting in the US Air Force serving from 1977-1979.
Following his military service, Mark spent his life working various jobs to include construction, warehouse work & Panama Transfer.
Mark was blessed with three children: Cecilia, Jessica & Tommy whom he loved unconditionally along with his two grandsons, Campbell & Killian.
He cherished every moment he had visiting with his family & friends. Mark enjoyed fishing, watching the birds out of his windows, tending to his garden and going to church whenever he could. He was a friendly man who loved sharing his "wisdom" and sense of humor with everyone he met. Mark will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
Mark passed away on July 5, 2023 at his home in Manilla, Iowa. Left to cherish his memory are his children Cecilia (Benjamin) SanFilippo of Haslet, TX; Jessica (Patrick) Green of Council Bluffs, IA; Thomas (Merissa) Finken of Earling, IA; 2 grandchildren Campbell & Killian SanFilippo; siblings Steve (Sharon) Finken of Harlan, IA; Alan (Donnelle) Finken of Littleton, CO; Richard Finken of Harlan, IA; Dave Finken of Omaha, NE; Jean (Alex) Pruitt of Spencer, IA; Joan (Jim) Henscheid of West Des Moines, IA; Peter (Kara) Finken of Simsbury, CT; Jackie Finken of Woodbridge, VA; many nieces, nephews & dear friends. Mark was preceded in death by his parents & brothers, John & Paul.
