Edith (Shaw) Begley, daughter of James and Bertha (Brunner) Shaw was born October 17, 1909 in Jerico Springs, Missouri.
Edith was united in marriage to L. Aaron Begley on September 23, 1931 at Eldorado Springs, Missouri. When Edith was asked about Aaron; she’d say “he was the only man I ever wanted!” To this union two children were born Donald Aaron Begley and Marjorie (Begley) Thomsen.
Edith was a simple woman who dearly loved her family. She loved gardening, flowers and music. She was always easy to tease and quick to giggle.
Edith is survived by her son Donald Begley and his wife MelaVee of Stockton, California; daughter Marjorie and her husband Kenneth Thomsen of Tennant, Iowa; brother Fred Shaw of Kansas City, Missouri; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; and friends.
Edith died Monday, October 3, 2016 at the Elm Crest Retirement Community. She was one hundred and six years, eleven months and sixteen days old. Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Begley; her parents; three brothers; one sister; grandson James Begley; and great grandson Brandon Thomsen.
