Melody Hassett
August 19, 1954 — July 20, 2021
Melody Jean Hassett, age 66, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Longview Nursing Home in Missouri Valley after a short battle with cancer.
Melody was born August 19, 1954 in Denison, Iowa the daughter of Leonard T. (Hun) and Cecelia Lochmiller Hassett.
She attended St. Rose of Lima School and then Denison Community School, graduating in 1972. She then attended Iowa Western Community College for two years. After that she was employed by an Omaha Insurance Company for around twenty years. She was then employed by Ameristar, Harrah’s, and Wal-Mart.
Melody had a love of animals. When she was growing up she had horses, later she always had a cat or two plus a variety of other animals.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at the St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Denison, Iowa.
She was proceeded in death by her parents and a brother Leonard (Domie) Hassett.
Melody is survived by her niece Shawn (Mike) Gasper of California, plus other cousins and friends.
