Miss Mia- Born July 2nd, 2009 in Harlan, Iowa. To Ann and Chris Schwieso, big sister Aubrey and little sister Kendall Schwieso. As a toddler you could already see her silly spirit and unforgettable dimples brighten every room. She had the sweetest voice that can still be heard in the hearts of those that love her. She constantly looked up to her big sister and was always looking out for Kendall in all that they did. Family was such a love for her, and she was proud to be the middle child.
As a family they enjoyed going to ISU games of any kind! She was a fierce ISU fan and that thread was woven in all that she did and wore. As a family they loved road trips to Ames, to Minnesota or anywhere they were playing sports. These trips were the quality time as family that they cherished. Moving out to the farm was a great adventure for them as a family, including the addition of chickens and their dog Winnie.
Mia found joy in so many things. This girl had a passion for fashion, anything aqua! But truly shoes, her collection of Nikes was one to be desired. Mia enjoyed playing multiple sports and always had a competitive spirit. She was always encouraging her teammates whether she was on the court or taking a breather on the bench. She loved family vacations, swimming, cooking with Grandmas, playing with Winnie, reading, arts and crafts.
She was baptized and made her First Holy Communion at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Harlan. In the past few years, she had really come into her faith and was willing to share it boldly with others.
It has become abundantly clear over the last few days, how many people our Mimi has touched in her short life. She was a friend to so many, and she embodied kindness to all that she encountered. She had the biggest heart for those she cared about and even for those she just met. She could truly melt you with just one smile!
Mia will be missed by her family, but also her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and friends that she considered family. Although her life was too short, her story lives on as we will continue to tell it each day!
