Michael J. Macdonald

Michael John Macdonald was born on August 29, 1957 to John and Ardes (Clay) Macdonald in Van Nuys, California. Mike spent the majority of his childhood on farms in Canby, Oregon and Galesville, Wisconsin. He also spent his childhood working at businesses owned by his mother and father; most notably Papa John�s restaurant in Holmen, Wisconsin.
Mike graduated from Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School in 1975 and from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 1980 with a degree in Engineering. During college Mike met Agnes �Aggie� Flogel. After college, Mike married Aggie on June 14, 1980 and moved to Janesville, Wisconsin where he was employed at Gilman in Janesville for over twenty years. Most recently Mike and Aggie have resided in Harlan, Iowa, where he worked for Conductix Wampfler as the Manager of Engineering.
Mike�s most recent passion was becoming a grandparent by welcoming in a grandson and granddaughter, but also included golfing, curling, cheering for the Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers, and spending time with his family and friends.
Mike died unexpectedly on September 8, 2013 at Myrtue Medical Center, just ten days after his fifty-sixth birthday. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Agnes Macdonald of Harlan, Iowa; sons Jonathan and his wife Tracy (Brewer); granddaughter Emmalyn of Iwakuni, Japan and Marcus and his wife Monika (Astari); grandson Wesley of Janesville, Wisconsin; four brothers: Mark Macdonald and his wife Donna of Manhattan Beach, California, David Macdonald and his wife Jane of North Bend, Wisconsin, Matthew Macdonald and his wife Rita of Madison, Wisconsin, and Joseph Macdonald and his wife Kimberly of North Bend, Wisconsin; two sisters: Sandy and her husband Tim Tranberg of Black River Falls, Wisconsin and Marlene and her husband Rod Vaningan of North Bend, Wisconsin; father-in-law and mother-in-law Henry and Dolores Flogel of Mazomanie, Wisconsin; nine brothers-in-law: Tom and Carol Flogel of Lake Villa, Illinois, Leo and Diana Flogel of Chandler, Arizona, Ray and Val Flogel of Mazomanie, Wisconsin, Cletus and Sue Flogel of Mukwonago, Wisconsin, James Flogel of Athens, Tennessee, Hal and Sara Flogel of Madison, Wisconsin, Paul and Judy Flogel of Cross Plains, Wisconsin, Allen and Jen Flogel of Oregon, Wisconsin, and Steve and Lisa Flogel of Mazomanie, Wisconsin; one sister-in-law Therese and Jim McKenzie of Whitewater, Wisconsin; nieces and nephews; other family members and many friends.
Pastor Jeff Erlmeier officiated the 1:00 PM funeral service on Friday, September 13, 2013 at Abundant Life Church in Harlan, Iowa. A public visitation will be held on Monday, September 16, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Schneider Funeral Home in Wisconsin. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at the Cross Point Community Church in Milton, Wisconsin.
