Milo D. Neve, son of Henry and Anna (Hinrichsen) Neve was born on January 20, 1928 in Avoca, Iowa. He was one of fourteen children born. Milo was baptized and confirmed at the German Lutheran Church in Avoca. He graduated from Avoca High School with the class of 1945. After graduation, Milo enlisted in the United States Navy on July 6, 1945.

On June 1, 1952, Milo was united in marriage to Glennola Nelson at the Glenn Nelson home in Avoca. From this union, four children were born: Kevin, Greg, Diedrea and Lance. They made their home in Avoca initially and then traveled wherever the Navy required Milo’s service until his retirement to Avoca.

Milo dedicated his life to the Navy, sacrificing many years away from his family and loved ones. His career spanned the closing days of World War II, Korean War and Vietnam. During his service, Milo received three Navy Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star, Korean Service Medal with Star, Vietnam Service Medal, Navy Occupation Service Medal (Europe), Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation and United Nations Service Medal. After 21 years, Milo was honorably discharged from the United States Navy in November of 1966.

Surrounded by his family, Milo passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at Nebraska Bellevue Medical Center in Bellevue, Nebraska attaining the age of ninety years, ten months and two days. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Ella Osbahr, Cora Purdy, Frances Brainard, Marjorie Neve, Helen Tennigkeit, Marie Headlee, Linda Renfeld, Anna Neve, Henry Neve, Jr., Eldene Neve, Milton Neve, Melvin Neve and Edwin Neve.

Left to cherish his memory, his wife of sixty-six years Glennola Neve of Bellevue, Nebraska; children Greg Neve and his wife Linda of Harlan, Iowa; Kevin Neve and his wife Patricia of Omaha, Nebraska; Diedrea and her husband Robert Shatzer of Littleton, Colorado; Lance Neve and his wife Lisa of Bennington, Nebraska; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
