Nancy Ann Robinson Mohr was born April 18, 1942, in Council Bluffs, IA to Kenneth and Betty (Glebe) Robinson. Nancy attended schools in Council Bluffs, Neola and Avoca, graduating in only three years from Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs. Nancy attended Epworth Methodist Church in Council Bluffs and was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Avoca. In later years she enjoyed worshiping at the Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines.
After high school, Nancy worked at Union Pacific Railroad, where she met the love of her life, Gene Mohr. Gene and Nancy married in 1961 and enjoyed 54 years of marriage. To this union five children were born: Jeff, Michelle, Jennifer, Katrina and Kristin. Gene and Nancy farmed in Avoca until retirement, when they moved to Waukee.
Nancy was an excellent homemaker and cook, an avid reader and prolific crocheter. She was an appreciated farm wife, always making sure a hot meal was on the ready. Her homemade chocolate cake was just one of many family favorites.
Nancy loved her family fiercely. Whether you called her Mom, Grandma, Gram, Fancy Nancy or Pop Dot, if you were loved by Nancy, you were loved big. Nancy recently delighted in her first great grandchildren, Samson and Trice. Nothing made Nancy happier than family.
Nancy passed away suddenly on Christmas Day, 2024, at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 7 days after a very brief battle with cancer. Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved Gene, her parents, sister Carole Tallman, parents-in-law J Melvin and Elinore Mohr, brothers-in-law Dean Mohr and Richard Tallman, niece Kelly Zarestky and nephew John Mohr.
