Noi Lovan was born January 14, 1931 in Sonla, North Vietnam, the daughter of Neuy and Da Luong. She was raised there until moving to Laos. In 1950 she was married to Mouane Lovan and resided in Laos until moving to Keokuk, Iowa in 1980. Due to Mr. Lovan?s failing health Mouane and Noi moved to Denison in 1987 to make their home with their son Deim. Mouane died June 24, 1993 and Noi continued to make her home in Denison. Noi was a homemaker all of her life and in her spare time she enjoyed sewing, cooking and gardening. She especially enjoyed time spent with family and grandchildren and will be remembered as a gracious and loving mother and grandmother. Noi died Thursday, December 27, 2007 at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa. At the time of his death she had attained the age of 76 years, 11 months and 15 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother, Seum Lovan. Those remaining to cherish her memory include six children and their spouses, Neuang and Bankhit Vathanonh of Pella, Ngouane and Hang Lovan of Pella, Deim and Toune Lovan of Denison, Boun and Lan Lovan of Denison, Khoy Cam and husband Jose Aldana of Denison and Houn Lovan of Denison and his wife, Lo Thi Vinh Uyen of Vietnam, 19 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, nine brothers and sisters, Suong Lovan of Des Moines, Seng Loung of France, Daniel Luong of France, Hieng Luong of North Vietnam, So Lovan of North Vietnam, Son Lovan of Des Moines, Heup Luong of North Vietnam, Heu Lovan of North Vietnam and Peung Lovan of Storm Lake, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 29, 2007, at the Pfannebecker Funeral Home in Denison, Iowa. Those participating in the service included Rieng Lovan making opening and closing remarks and Diana Lovan and Michael Lovan serving as speakers. Graveside services and inurnment was held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 31, 2007, at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa. The Pfannebecker Funeral Home in Denison was in charge of arrangements.
