Orrin D. Plagmann
September 10, 1936 — April 6, 2019
Orrin Dale Plagmann, son of Henry J. and Mamie (Frank) Plagmann, was born September 10, 1936 on his family farm. He attended Lincoln #7 country school before graduating from Harlan High School in 1954.
On August 18, 1958, Orrin was united in marriage to Irma Block in Denison, Iowa. Three children were born to this union, two sons Dale and Dean, and a still born daughter, Judy. Together Orrin and Irma farmed south of Harlan.
In his younger days, Orrin enjoyed trips to Okoboji. He and Irma liked traveling to Las Vegas, Nevada and going to the casinos. He also enjoyed attending Bingo on Wednesday nights in Avoca. He loved tending to his Herford cattle in his early days of farming. He could always be found riding his gator around checking the crops and tending to his garden.
Orrin died on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Myrtue Medical Center, attaining the age of eighty-two years, six months and twenty-seven days. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Irma and daughter Judy.
He is survived by his sons Dale Plagmann and his wife Trudy of Harlan, Iowa; Dean Plagmann of Harlan; 3 grandchildren David Plagmann and his wife Kelli, Jane Plagmann and Denise Plagmann; 1 great grandchild Kenleigh Plagmann; sister Twyla and her husband Charles Grabill of Harlan; nieces and nephews; other family members and many friends.
