Pam Ahart was born in Omaha, Nebraska, May 5, 1952, the daughter of James and Lorraine Weise Strong.  She was raised in the Omaha/Council Bluffs areas and graduated high school from Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa.  Following her schooling she was employed with the Avis Car Rental Agency at Eppley Airport in Omaha for twenty-five years. In 2000, Pam was united in marriage with Joel Ahart at Joel’s mother’s home in Denison, Iowa.  They made their home in Odebolt, Iowa, where she assisted her husband Joel in their J.A. Lawn Care business. Pam loved being a mom and grandma and spending time with her family. In her leisure time she enjoyed crafts, home decorating, going to garage sales, thrifting, working in her flower beds and was especially fond of her pet cats.Pam died Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Unity Point Health, St. Luke’s Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa.  At the time of her death she had been blessed with 64 years, 7 months and 10 days. Pam was preceded in death by her father, James Strong, brother, Gregg Strong and her father-in-law Gerald Ahart.Those remaining to cherish her memory include her husband Joel Ahart of Odebolt, Iowa; daughters: Shay (Trent) and Leigh; grandchildren: Tea and Silas; mother, Lorraine Strong of Council Bluffs, Iowa; mother-in-law, Gladys Ahart of Denison, Iowa; brothers and sisters: Sandy (Steve) Crane of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Gwynne (Doug) Madsen of Shenandoah, Iowa, Debbie Headley of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Vicki (Nick) Emery of Haddam, Kansas, Kurt Strong and LouAnn Sulley of Council Bluffs, Iowa; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Memorial services were held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Denison, Iowa, with Father Paul Kelly as officiant. Private inurnment will be held at a later date at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery in Denison. Following the service the family invited everyone to join them at the St. Rose of Lima Parish Center for fellowship and a luncheon provided by St. Rose of Lima Ladies Guild. A visitation was held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday. The Pfannebecker Funeral Home, www.pfannebecker.com , Denison, Iowa, was in charge of arrangements.
